TRUCK is an emerging art collective of artists Drew Pardy, Emily Neufeld, and Annie Canto. TRUCK formed in an effort to explore resourcefulness and its ties to masculinity observed by the artists' upbringings in rural towns across the continent. In labour-based performances and happenings documented in large format photos and looping videos, the artists explore gender identity, rural/urban communities, and the patriarchal labour culture that abounds in extractive industries. Across projects, TRUCK's working class truck-driving avatars use the truck as a tool for hauling dysfunctional materials, as a dress-up closet, and as a mirror to reflect on how the gender binary acts to limit our own identities.
